When you think about modern media, software
represents a step backwards because of its imposition on the
customer.
For example, when you buy a TV, you don't have to fiddle with it to
receive a new sitcom that begins airing. Instead, it just shows up
on your TV. The broadcaster does all the hard work.
Software flips this model. If you need a new feature, you have to do
the heavy lifting — i.e., buying, installing, and configuring the
upgrade.
Web applications like
Bill4Time work like your TV set — new features show up
automatically in your Web browser on your Mac or PC without you
lifting a finger.
SO, WHAT'S NEW IN BILL4TIME?
Bill4Time, of course, is the Web-based billing application that has
won many converts from traditional billing programs since
TechnoLawyer first discovered and covered us last July. We followed
up on that coverage with a series of TechnoReleases that
have attracted many more converts.
As our customer base grows, so do the number of feature requests we
receive. While we receive a few one-off suggestions, most requests
tend to be repetitive, which makes it easy for us to allocate
development resources.
So, what have we done for our customers lately? How about:
• Windows Mobile: Bill4Time Mobile now supports Windows
Mobile Pocket PC's in addition to BlackBerrys and Palm OS Treos.
Windows Mobile Smartphone support will be released in the next few
days. Bill4Time Mobile doesn't just capture your time and expenses
when you're on the go, it also securely sends your entries to your
Bill4Time account where you will see them upon logging in from any
Mac or PC. No syncing needed.
• Flexible Billing Rates: Bill4Time users have long enjoyed
the ability to set billing rates by the Timekeeper, Client, or
Matter. Just added — the ability to set the billing rate per Time
Entry.
• Foreign Currency: Bill4Time has long provided the ability
to use European-style dates for our international customers. Now,
you can also create bills using foreign currencies such as the
popular Euro.
• PDF Bills — New This Week: Bill4Time invoices have now
taken a big step forward thanks to a familiar three-letter acronym —
PDF. Without the need for any PDF software, you can output and email
bills in PDF format from your Web browser.
Coming soon — iPhone Support — yes, you will be able to
input Time and Expenses in real-time from your iPhone.
And let's not forget Bill4Time QB Connect, which integrates
Bill4Time with QuickBooks, a very popular new feature we rolled out
a few months ago.
