Managing Temporary Users

Just add new employees as users when they start working for you and disable them when they are done. If you bring them back in the future, you can simply re-activate their accounts! You will only be charged for the time they are active.

  1. From the Dashboard, click on "User Management" from the Administrative Menu.
  2. Click on the desired User
  3. Click on the "Edit" button.
  4. Select either "Active" or "Disabled" on the Status field..

Go back to the Dashboard and you should see a new menu item under Time/Expenses called "Log Internal Time". Entering internal time is very similar to entering billable time.

Temporary User Tips

To stay on top of the work that your temporary employees are performing, simply subscribe to their projects to get an email update every time they enter their notes or hours on a project.

To keep their eyes where they should be, simply limit what they can do with Bill4Time from the User Management section - you can control which features and which clients they have access to.

When creating users who you pay based on their billing, you can set them up as a "Contractor" in the User Information field and enter the rate you pay them per hour. Then, when it is time to pay them, simply run the Contractor Summary Report to see how much they worked, how much they earned for you, and what you owe them.
